Like many, I’ve experienced the load of heavy emotions and low self-esteem from a challenging upbringing. I’ve lost the closest people to me to incarceration, suicide, illness, and neglect. After understanding that a lot of what I was experiencing was a pattern within my family and community, I declared to God at 13 years old, “The cycle ends with me.” Did I truly understand what I had confessed? Not completely. But I knew I meant it. I was tired of the pain and I wanted to feel at peace and free. What came after that was YEARS of unlearning and relearning, healing, self-awareness, forgiveness, and aligning with my new declaration. After facing the effects of my own childhood experiences, I knew my purpose was to help others do the same. So, I combined my natural ability to connect with others vulnerabilities and my dream to coach and counsel with the purpose God gave me to establish The Little You in 2016.
